So, I've been looking for a low budget light training gloves for my class. Especially since Revival has gone dodgy and the SPES gloves are relatively expensive, especially for beginners.

I've been recommended motorbike gloves several times so I thought I would give it a try and at $22 including postage I didn't feel like it was much of a risk.

Pros:

Did I mention $22 including postage? Yep, it's cheap enough that everyone in your class can go out now and buy one without any whinging. They also come in a variety of colours which makes people happy.

Perfect for 90% of non-sparring activities. They are completely light and flexible, great for drilling and general training. They have hard protection in most of the places that are likely to get struck during partner exercises and light sparing. They have padding in the finger tips, thumb and around the knuckles which is kind of perfect.

The extra-grippy fabric on the palm is actually a real bonus and does good things, especially with slippery leather grip handles on sword.

The breathable  fabric is also a bonus and these are definitely the least sweaty gloves I've ever used.

Cons:

The lack of a long cuff up the forearm is draw back leaving the wrist exposed. However if worn with a forearm guard it removes that problem.

Some of the stitching came apart almost immediately and required resewing, which was not a big deal for me.

Summary:

Great budget training gloves.
